We are pleased to announce that the Jacob Leisler Institute for the Study of Early New York History plans to hold its first Exhibition August 17-September 29, 2024, at Circle 46 Gallery in Hudson, New York. Titled Becoming a New People: New Netherland Under British Rule, 1664-1773, the exhibit will showcase the Institute’s historical manuscripts, books, maps, and illustrative materials, as well as present an overview of this important, understudied period leading up to the American Revolution.
The Institute is dedicated to and is successfully collecting, preserving, and disseminating information relating to this seminal period and enlightening the public through our lecture series. But it needs your help. Please assist the Institute if you can by donating toward the creation of this educational exhibit which will cost a minimum of $10,000 to create. Any overage will be applied to the general fund. One donor has offered to match donations so yours will go that much further. Donations will be noted in marketing material and at the event’s entrance. All donations are appreciated. Thank you in advance.
